An occasion so rare
Meant for only two in a billion
Where our hearts and the stars are aligned
When the moon contrasts the dark night’s sky
Gazing down upon us
Like a mother’s eyes gleaming with pride
Where we are only two in a billion
And even though the tides are on our side
The sun doesn’t hang on one tree
The world doesn’t revolve around us
And I’m done being a pawn
On somebody else’s chessboard
But then again
Beneath the cool gaze of the blue moon
It’s a rare occasion
One not in need of preparation
And here we sit
Like two stars in a million
A constellation in a gajillion
Or two in a billion.
